Saints of the Barrow
Category: hard
Prerequisites: complete the_bone_orchard
The Pilgrim's Way
Nine saints lie under the Hallowed Barrows, and the order's oldest devotion — the Pilgrim's Way — visits each in turn with offerings. No one has walked it entire in a century; Maren says whoever finishes it 'will know the mounds as the saints did.' The first station is the Weeping Stone. Begin with offerings there.
Objectives:
- BURY: bones_normal ×80
Rewards:
- ✨ 6,000
Prayer XP - 5,500 gp
The Guardian of the Second Station
The second saint's mound is held by risen guards who have forgotten they died. Grant them the reminder gently, and gather the great bones for the station's rite.
Objectives:
- KILL: kill skeleton_1 ×45
Rewards:
Bones ×60- 6,000 gp
The Second Station
The second saint was a soldier; her station takes soldiers' offerings — the great bones of the fallen, laid in rank and file. Perform the rite as the old devotion describes it.
Objectives:
- BURY: bones_normal ×60
Rewards:
- ✨ 7,000
Prayer XP - 6,000 gp
The Fisher-Saint's Due
The third saint fed the barrows from the sea in famine years. Her station's offering is the old fast-day catch, landed fresh and laid at the stone. Bring in the tuna run.
Objectives:
- CATCH: raw_tuna ×130
Rewards:
- ✨ 50,000
Fishing XP - 6,500 gp
The Third Station
Lay the fisher-saint's offering, then settle the drowned dead of her harbor — brought up the coast road in urns for a century, waiting for a pilgrim to finish the Way. Bury them all.
Objectives:
- BURY: bones_normal ×120
Rewards:
- ✨ 8,000
Prayer XP - 6,500 gp
Wolves on the Way
Between the third and fourth stations the Way crosses open moor — and the wrong-eyed pack has learned where pilgrims walk. Clear the crossing, and keep what they scatter.
Objectives:
- KILL: kill dire_wolf ×50
Rewards:
Bones ×70- 7,000 gp
A Pilgrim Proven
At the fourth station the old devotion sets its first test: 'none pass who the mounds do not know.' The proof is fire — raise the station's beacon and keep it burning until the mound beneath answers with a warmth of its own.
Objectives:
- BURN: Yew Logs ×100
Rewards:
- ✨ 13,000
Firemaking XP - 7,000 gp
- 💎 32 gems
The Fourth Station
The fourth saint was the order's first smith; his station's offering is laid in the forge-yard, great bones under the anvil-stone, while the choir hammers the devotion's verse. Perform it.
Objectives:
- BURY: bones_normal ×80
Rewards:
- ✨ 8,500
Prayer XP - 7,500 gp
The Candle Vigil
The fifth saint kept the light — her station is a night of maple fires at the mound-line, one flame per name on her roll. Keep her vigil burning until dawn.
Objectives:
- BURN: Maple Logs ×130
Rewards:
- ✨ 13,000
Firemaking XP - 7,500 gp
The Fifth Station
As her fires burn down, the fifth saint's rite begins: the roll of names read aloud, an offering buried for each. It takes the whole night. The night is worth it.
Objectives:
- BURY: bones_normal ×150
Rewards:
- ✨ 9,000
Prayer XP - 8,000 gp
The Desecrators
The sixth station stands violated — cracked open by the Hand's robbers looking for a saint's relics to sell. They are still in the mound. Remove them.
Objectives:
- KILL: kill bandit_1 ×60
Rewards:
Big Bones ×40- 8,000 gp
The Sixth Station, Restored
Reconsecrating a violated station is the hardest rite in the devotion — the ground must be re-settled bone by bone before the saint will rest again. Restore the sixth station.
Objectives:
- BURY: bones_big ×90
Rewards:
- ✨ 10,000
Prayer XP - 8,500 gp
The Way's Second Test
At the seventh station the devotion tests again: 'none pass who cannot carry the weight.' The weight, it turns out, is literal: the station's fallen way-marks must be re-raised in heavy timber, felled and hauled up the pilgrim path on your own back.
Objectives:
- CHOP: Mahogany Logs ×140
Rewards:
- ✨ 55,000
Woodcutting XP - 9,000 gp
- 💎 36 gems
The Cook-Saint's Table
The seventh saint fed pilgrims from a single pot for forty years. Her station's offering is cooked, not buried: alms-meals for every pilgrim, beggar and bell-ringer on the Way. Take her kitchen.
Objectives:
- COOK: raw_tuna ×110
Rewards:
- ✨ 45,000
Cooking XP - 9,000 gp
The Seventh Station
When the last alms-bowl is empty, the seventh rite begins — the kitchen-yard's own dead, the cooks and servers of forty years, settled at last beneath the hearth they kept. Bury them.
Objectives:
- BURY: bones_normal ×180
Rewards:
- ✨ 10,000
Prayer XP - 9,500 gp
The Eighth Station's Guard
The eighth saint's mound stands nearest the crypt-door, and what guards it now is not hers. Risen dead in grave-goods that don't match their bones — the Saint's plants. Clear them off.
Objectives:
- KILL: kill skeleton_1 ×60
Rewards:
Big Bones ×50- 9,500 gp
The Eighth Station
The eighth rite is performed in sight of the crypt-door, deliberately: the devotion calls it 'the rite that watches back.' Lay the great bones in the old pattern and do not hurry, no matter what the fog does.
Objectives:
- BURY: bones_big ×110
Rewards:
Bones ×150- ✨ 12,000
Prayer XP - 10,000 gp
The Ninth Saint
The ninth station has no mound. The records finally admit why: the ninth saint is the Hollow Saint herself, and the Way's last devotion was always a prayer for her rescue. Complete the pilgrimage as its authors intended — build her the mound she never had, offering by offering, where the ninth station should stand. When you rise, every bell in the Barrows rings once, unrung — and Maren names you the first Pilgrim of the Way in a hundred years.
Objectives:
- BURY: bones_normal ×150
Rewards:
Dragon Bones ×30- ✨ 15,000
Prayer XP - 15,000 gp
- 💎 60 gems
