Offline Progress

The game keeps playing while it is closed. When you come back it replays the time you were away: the same actions, the same drop rolls and the same quest credit you would have earned with the game open. That is why an offline return can finish a quest objective or drop a rare item.

How long it runs

The offline window is capped at 12 hours. Time beyond the cap is lost, so check in before it fills.

The Offline Time upgrade in Shop → Permanent Upgrades adds one hour per tier, up to 12 tiers, for a cap of 24 hours. Each tier is paid in gold or in gems.

The quest reward upgrade Cosy Hearth adds one more hour on top (10,000 gp and the Cabin Deed Cabin Deed).

What runs offline

  • Your current action. The skill action, fight or dungeon you left running carries on, and uses up its inputs (logs, ore, food, runes, arrows) as it would online. When an input runs out the action stops.
  • Quests. Objectives count offline. With the All Quests Active upgrade every open quest chain earns credit, not only the tracked one.
  • Farming. Crops grow in real time whether the game is open or not. Harvesting and replanting while you are away needs the Auto Farmer upgrade.
  • Pets. Pets on a mission bank income for up to 24 hours, separate from the offline cap. See Pets.
  • Clue scrolls. Exploring surveys roll for clues offline: see Clue Scrolls.

Tips

  • Stock enough inputs for the whole window before you leave. A processing skill with ten minutes of materials only earns ten minutes.
  • For a fight, bring enough food and make sure Auto-Eat is bought.
  • Gathering skills need no inputs, so they are the safest thing to leave running overnight.
